In this critical role, you will be a vital part of a dynamic Security Operations Centre (SOC), standing on the front lines of cyber defence. Your primary mission will be to meticulously protect critical digital assets, employing cutting-edge tools and methodologies to detect, analyse, and respond to an ever-evolving array of sophisticated cyber threats.
You will be responsible for continuous monitoring of security events across networks, endpoints, applications, and cloud environments. This includes the adept use of SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) platforms, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDPS), endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions, and other advanced security analytics tools. Your daily activities will involve triaging security alerts, performing initial incident containment, conducting in-depth forensic analysis, and escalating complex incidents to higher-tier security teams when necessary.
Beyond reactive measures, you will contribute significantly to proactive security enhancements. This involves developing and refining detection rules, improving incident response playbooks, participating in vulnerability management processes, and contributing to threat intelligence gathering and analysis. Collaboration is key; you will work closely with other cybersecurity specialists, IT operations teams, and various business units to ensure a cohesive and robust security posture across the entire organisation.
