This on-site role is pivotal in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our client’s premises, assets, and personnel. As a Security Patrol Guard, you will be the eyes and ears of our security operations, proactively patrolling designated areas, identifying potential risks, and responding to incidents with professionalism and efficiency. You will play a crucial role in preventing unauthorized access, deterring criminal activity, and ensuring compliance with established security protocols. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular foot and/or vehicle patrols of premises, both interior and exterior, to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, damage, or unauthorized activity.
- Monitor security cameras and alarm systems, responding promptly and effectively to any alerts or suspicious activity.
- Enforce company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance from all personnel and visitors.
- Respond to emergencies such as medical incidents, fires, or security breaches, following established protocols to ensure safety and minimize damage.
- Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports, daily logs, and other documentation as required.
- Control access to restricted areas, verifying credentials of personnel and visitors.
- Provide exceptional customer service and assistance to staff, visitors, and contractors.
- Conduct security checks of doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are properly secured.
- Liaise effectively with emergency services, law enforcement, and management during incidents.
Required Skills
- Possession of a valid Security Guard License in Manitoba.
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
- Excellent observational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Physical fitness to perform duties including prolonged standing, walking, and occasional lifting.
- Clean criminal record and clear background check.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills for report writing and monitoring systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-2 years of proven experience in a security patrol or similar role.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving abstract (if vehicle patrol is required).
- Experience with security software, CCTV monitoring, and alarm systems.
- Tactical communication and conflict de-escalation training.
- Ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
