Your primary responsibility will involve conducting regular, systematic patrols across assigned properties, sites, and designated areas, both on foot and utilizing company patrol vehicles. You will be tasked with diligently monitoring surveillance equipment, including CCTV feeds, and conducting thorough inspections of buildings, perimeter fences, equipment, and all access points to ensure their integrity. A key aspect of your role will also involve controlling access, verifying credentials, and permitting entry for authorized personnel while strictly adhering to established security protocols. Your duties will further extend to responding promptly and effectively to alarms, emergency calls, and other security-related incidents, ranging from minor disturbances to more critical situations. Meticulous documentation of all incidents, observations, and actions taken is paramount, requiring accurate report writing. You will also be responsible for strictly enforcing established security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance from all individuals on site. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols on foot and in company vehicles across assigned properties.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV, and promptly report any suspicious activity.
- Inspect buildings, equipment, and access points to ensure security integrity.
- Control access to premises, verifying credentials of personnel and visitors.
- Respond swiftly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents.
- Enforce company security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance.
- Prepare accurate and detailed incident reports, daily logs, and observations.
- Deter criminal activity through visible presence and proactive measures.
- Provide assistance to clients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Security Officer or in a similar role.
- Excellent observational and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to operate surveillance technology and security equipment.
- Sound judgment and decision-making capabilities under pressure.
- Strong understanding of security protocols and emergency procedures.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; a security-related qualification is a plus.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Previous experience in a reputable security firm or law enforcement.
- Knowledge of local security regulations and laws in Zimbabwe.
