Job Description

We are actively seeking a dedicated and vigilant Full-Time Security Patrol Officer to join our dynamic team in Mombasa, Kenya. This pivotal role involves safeguarding our clients’ premises, assets, and personnel through proactive patrolling, diligent observation, and rapid response to any security incidents. As a Security Patrol Officer with KK Security, you will be the front line of defense, responsible for maintaining a secure environment, preventing unauthorized access, and deterring criminal activity. Your daily duties will include conducting regular patrols, monitoring surveillance equipment, controlling access points, and responding swiftly and effectively to alarms or emergency situations. You will play a crucial role in incident documentation and reporting, ensuring all security breaches and suspicious activities are thoroughly recorded and communicated. This position demands a high level of integrity, physical fitness, and excellent observational skills. You will be expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and customer service, interacting respectfully with clients, staff, and the public. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular and thorough patrols of assigned premises (on foot or via vehicle) to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, damage, or unauthorized presence.
  • Monitor and operate security equipment such as CCTV systems, alarms, and access control systems.
  • Control access to premises, ensuring only authorized personnel and vehicles enter and exit, and maintaining accurate logs.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergency calls, and security incidents, assessing situations and taking appropriate action according to established protocols.
  • Identify, report, and document all security breaches, suspicious activities, safety hazards, and unusual occurrences in detailed incident reports.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance by all personnel and visitors.
  • Provide assistance to clients, staff, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner, offering directions or responding to inquiries.
  • Conduct initial investigations into incidents such as theft, vandalism, or disturbances, securing evidence and interviewing witnesses as necessary.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance security knowledge and skills.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Security Officer or in a similar role (e.g., military, law enforcement)
  • Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols
  • Ability to operate diverse surveillance technology and alarm systems
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound judgment and decision-making ability under pressure
  • Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
  • Basic first aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid Certificate of Good Conduct

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; a security-related diploma or certificate is a plus
  • Prior experience working in a busy commercial or industrial security environment
  • Familiarity with local security regulations and laws in Kenya
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications for report writing
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
