Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Security Supervisor to oversee and manage the security operations at our company premises in Kakamega. The successful candidate will be responsible for safeguarding company assets, ensuring the safety of employees and visitors, and maintaining a secure environment. This role requires a proactive individual with strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to respond effectively to security incidents. You will lead a team of security personnel, implement security policies, and monitor surveillance systems to uphold the highest standards of protection for our vital infrastructure and personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and manage a team of security guards, ensuring adherence to established protocols and procedures.
  • Develop and implement daily security patrol schedules and post assignments for security personnel.
  • Conduct regular inspections of premises to identify potential security risks, vulnerabilities, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Monitor and operate CCTV surveillance systems, access control systems, and alarm systems.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to all security incidents, emergencies, and alarms, including unauthorized access, theft, and disturbances.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and other documentation as required.
  • Enforce company security policies and procedures, ensuring all personnel and visitors comply with access control regulations.
  • Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
  • Conduct security briefings and training sessions for security personnel to enhance their skills and awareness.
  • Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of all security equipment.
  • Oversee visitor management and vehicle access procedures.
  • Conduct investigations into security breaches or suspicious activities.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in security supervision or a similar leadership role.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in operating security equipment, including CCTV and access control systems.
  • Knowledge of security procedures, risk assessment, and incident response.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in varying conditions.
  • Basic first aid and fire safety knowledge.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Security Management, Criminology, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in a disciplined force (e.g., National Police Service, Kenya Prisons Service, Kenya Defence Forces) will be an added advantage.
  • Certification in security operations or investigations.
  • Valid driving license.
