In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the strategic development and operational management of Special Educational Needs provision across the institution. You will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, external agencies, and other stakeholders to create a cohesive, wrap-around support network that extends beyond the classroom. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the strategic development and day-to-day management of SEN provision across the institution.
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of teaching assistants and support staff, fostering a culture of excellence.
- Coordinate and conduct comprehensive SEN assessments, ensuring timely and accurate identification of needs.
- Develop, monitor, and rigorously review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for all students with SEN.
- Provide expert advice, guidance, and training to staff, parents, and external agencies on SEN best practices.
- Ensure full compliance with all relevant SEN legislation, policies, and the SEN Code of Practice.
- Manage SEN budgets and resources effectively, ensuring optimal allocation to support student needs.
- Organise and deliver targeted professional development sessions for staff on a range of SEN-related topics.
- Foster a culture of inclusion, high expectations, and positive outcomes for all students.
- Act as a key point of contact for parents/carers regarding their child's Special Educational Needs.
Required Skills
- Proven leadership experience in SEN coordination or management within an educational setting.
- In-depth knowledge and practical application of the SEN Code of Practice and relevant legislation.

- National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCo).

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
