Job Description
We are seeking an exceptional and dedicated SEN Lead to join a supportive educational environment in Conisbrough, Doncaster. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic development, implementation, and evaluation of SEN provision across the institution.
- Oversee the assessment process for students with SEN, ensuring accurate identification of needs and appropriate support planning.
- Develop and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs), reviewing progress and adapting strategies as necessary.
- Line manage and provide professional development for SEN support staff, fostering a highly skilled and motivated team.
- Liaise effectively with parents/guardians, external agencies, and other professionals to ensure holistic student support.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant SEN legislation, policies, and guidelines.
- Advise and support teaching staff on effective strategies for inclusive education and differentiation.
- Contribute to the overall leadership and management of the institution, promoting an inclusive ethos.
Required Skills
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs (e.g., NASENCo).
- Proven experience (minimum 4 years) working in an SEN leadership or coordination role.
- In-depth knowledge of SEN legislation, policies, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team leadership skills.
- Ability to conduct comprehensive SEN assessments and develop effective intervention strategies.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a flexible schedule.
