Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality person-centred care, assisting residents with personal care, dressing, mobility, and feeding.
- Administer medication as prescribed and record accurately, adhering to all regulatory guidelines (following certified training).
- Lead and supervise a team of Care Assistants, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
- Assist in the development and review of individualised care plans, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of residents.
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Monitor residents' health and well-being, reporting any changes or concerns promptly to the nursing team.
- Support residents in engaging with social activities, promoting their mental and physical well-being.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records, adhering to data protection and confidentiality policies.
- Act as a role model for best practice in care delivery, upholding the dignity and respect of all residents.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Care Assistant, with at least 1 year in a Senior/Supervisory capacity.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient approach.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding vulnerable adults and health and safety protocols.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible to work across various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electronic care planning systems.
- First Aid certification.
- Additional training in dementia care or palliative care.
- Driving licence and access to a vehicle (due to location/shift patterns).
