Are you a visionary Senior Cloud Infrastructure Specialist with a passion for designing, implementing, and managing cutting-edge cloud environments? Econet Wireless Zimbabwe is seeking an exceptionally skilled and experienced individual to join our robust Technology team in Manicaland Province. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our cloud infrastructure, driving our digital transformation initiatives, and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our mission-critical systems. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions across multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
- Oversee the deployment, management, and optimization of containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Implement and enforce robust cloud security best practices, compliance standards, and data protection policies.
- Monitor cloud infrastructure performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure optimal uptime and efficiency.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to integrate new technologies and improve existing cloud solutions.
- Lead cloud migration projects, ensuring minimal disruption and successful transition of on-premise workloads to the cloud.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior team members on cloud best practices and emerging technologies.
- Manage cloud costs effectively through optimization strategies and resource management.
- Stay abreast of the latest cloud technologies, trends, and security threats, recommending and implementing relevant updates.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure.
- Expertise in at least one major public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP); multi-cloud experience preferred.
- Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
- Extensive experience with containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (VPC, VPN, DNS, Load Balancing) in cloud environments.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
- Deep knowledge of cloud security principles and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant professional cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect).
- Experience with serverless architectures (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Splunk.
- Experience with database management in cloud environments (e.g., RDS, Azure SQL Database, Cloud SQL).
- Master's degree in a relevant technical field.
