Job Description

Are you an experienced ERP professional ready to make a significant impact on one of Zimbabwe’s largest agricultural enterprises? Hippo Valley Estates Limited is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior ERP Consultant to join our dynamic IT team in Chiredzi. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in optimizing, enhancing, and maintaining our enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, which are critical to the seamless operation of our extensive sugar cane production, milling, and supply chain processes.

As a Senior ERP Consultant, you will serve as a subject matter expert, bridging the gap between business requirements and technical solutions. Your responsibilities will span the entire ERP lifecycle, from initial requirement gathering and system design to implementation, configuration, testing, and post-go-live support. You will work closely with various departments, including Finance, Operations, Production, Supply Chain, and HR, to understand their needs, identify areas for process improvement, and translate these into effective ERP functionalities. This role demands a deep understanding of ERP modules relevant to a manufacturing and agricultural environment, such as Financial Accounting (FI), Controlling (CO), Materials Management (MM), Production Planning (PP), Sales & Distribution (SD), and Human Capital Management (HCM).

You will be expected to lead solution design efforts, manage projects or project components, and provide expert guidance to junior consultants and end-users. Your analytical prowess will be key in troubleshooting complex issues, ensuring data integrity, and developing robust reporting capabilities to support strategic decision-making. This is an unparalleled opportunity to contribute to the digital transformation journey of a large-scale agricultural leader, driving efficiency and innovation that directly impacts our operational success and regional development. We are looking for a proactive problem-solver with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality ERP solutions in a challenging yet rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the analysis, design, configuration, and implementation of ERP modules to meet business requirements.
  • Collaborate with functional leads and end-users to gather and document business processes and functional requirements.
  • Provide expert guidance and support for ERP system optimization, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Develop and execute test plans, manage user acceptance testing (UAT), and ensure data integrity.
  • Troubleshoot complex ERP issues, provide timely resolutions, and implement preventative measures.
  • Conduct training sessions for end-users and develop comprehensive documentation.
  • Manage small to medium-sized ERP projects or significant components of larger projects, adhering to timelines and budgets.
  • Stay abreast of ERP trends, new technologies, and best practices to recommend continuous improvements.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in ERP implementation, configuration, and support.
  • Proven expertise in at least two major ERP modules (e.g., SAP FI/CO, MM, PP, SD; Oracle EBS, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Strong understanding of business processes in manufacturing, agriculture, or a related industrial sector.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex business needs into technical ERP solutions.
  • Experience in project management methodologies and leading project tasks.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools within an ERP environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience with ERP systems in a large-scale agricultural or food production environment.
  • Familiarity with integration technologies and data migration strategies.
  • Strong stakeholder management and change management skills.
