Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior HR Business Partner to join our team at the Cam & Motor Mine in Kadoma, Mashonaland West Province. This pivotal role will serve as a strategic partner to our operational leadership, aligning HR initiatives with business objectives to drive performance, foster a positive work culture, and enhance employee engagement. The Senior HR Business Partner will be instrumental in developing and implementing HR strategies that support talent management, organizational development, succession planning, and robust employee relations. You will be responsible for providing expert HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on a wide range of HR matters, including performance management, compensation and benefits, talent acquisition, and HR policy interpretation and application. This role requires a proactive individual with a deep understanding of HR best practices, Zimbabwean labor laws, and the unique challenges and opportunities within the mining sector. The successful candidate will be a catalyst for change, driving initiatives that promote efficiency, productivity, and a safe, inclusive, and high-performing workplace. Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic HR advisor to senior management and departmental heads at the Cam & Motor Mine, ensuring HR strategies are fully integrated with business goals.
  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive talent management programs, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, career development, and succession planning.
  • Manage complex employee relations issues, conducting investigations, mediating conflicts, and ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies and labor laws.
  • Drive organizational development initiatives, supporting change management processes, workforce planning, and talent mapping.
  • Develop, interpret, and ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, and relevant Zimbabwean labor legislation.
  • Oversee compensation and benefits administration, ensuring competitiveness and equity in line with company strategy and market trends.
  • Facilitate training and development programs to enhance employee skills, leadership capabilities, and overall organizational effectiveness.
  • Utilize HR analytics and metrics to identify trends, inform decision-making, and evaluate the effectiveness of HR programs.
  • Promote and foster a positive organizational culture that aligns with RioZim's values of safety, integrity, respect, and excellence.
  • Manage HR projects and initiatives from conception to completion, ensuring timely and effective delivery.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to operate as a strategic HR partner to business leaders.
  • In-depth knowledge of Zimbabwean labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong conflict resolution and mediation abilities.
  • Proficiency in HR Information Systems (HRIS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret HR data and metrics.
  • Demonstrated capability in talent acquisition and retention strategies.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong ethical compass and commitment to confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., IPMZ, SHRM-SCP, HRCI-SPHR).
  • Experience in the mining or heavy industrial sector.
  • Demonstrated success in leading change management initiatives.
  • Familiarity with collective bargaining agreements and union relations.
