Job Description
We are seeking a highly creative, experienced, and dynamic Senior Interior Designer to join our thriving team in Bulawayo. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage interior design projects from concept development to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Develop innovative design concepts, mood boards, material palettes, and detailed presentations for client approval.
- Produce comprehensive design documentation, including floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules using industry-standard software.
- Conduct client consultations to understand needs, preferences, and functional requirements, translating them into compelling design solutions.
- Source and specify furniture, fixtures, equipment (FF&E), finishes, and lighting, maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
- Supervise on-site installations and collaborate effectively with architects, contractors, and vendors to ensure design integrity and quality.
- Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering their professional development and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Manage project budgets, cost estimates, and procurement processes efficiently.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, new materials, and design technologies to ensure cutting-edge solutions.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and accessibility standards.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in interior design, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of project types.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, 3ds Max, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign).
- Exceptional understanding of space planning, ergonomics, color theory, lighting design, and material specifications.
- Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and contractor coordination.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with clients and team members.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- In-depth knowledge of furniture systems, finishes, and fixtures.
- Problem-solving aptitude and a detail-oriented approach to design and execution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a closely related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., NCIDQ) or registration with a relevant professional body.
- Experience with sustainable design practices and LEED-certified projects.
- Proficiency in rendering software (e.g., V-Ray, Corona Renderer).
- Prior experience in a senior or leadership role within a design firm.
