Job Description

Mimosa Mining Company is seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Network Architecture Lead to join our dedicated IT team in Zvishavane. This pivotal role requires a seasoned professional to take strategic ownership of our entire network infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, scalability, and security across all operational facets, including our advanced mining systems and corporate environments. You will be instrumental in defining the future state of our network architecture, aligning it with business objectives, and safeguarding our critical operations against evolving cyber threats. This encompasses everything from high-performance data centre networks and wide-area networks connecting remote sites to advanced security perimeters and the integration of Operational Technology (OT) networks. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of enterprise-level network design, implementation, and optimization, coupled with proven leadership skills to mentor junior engineers and drive significant projects. You will be responsible for setting architectural standards, evaluating emerging technologies, and managing key vendor relationships to ensure Mimosa’s network infrastructure remains at the forefront of industry best practices and supports our ambitious growth trajectory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic planning, design, and implementation of Mimosa's enterprise network architecture, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, Data Centre networks, and Cloud connectivity.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce network architectural standards, policies, and procedures to ensure optimal performance, security, and compliance.
  • Oversee the integration and security of Operational Technology (OT) networks with traditional IT infrastructure, ensuring robust communication and threat mitigation.
  • Architect and implement advanced network security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, and identity access management.
  • Conduct regular network performance analysis, capacity planning, and provide recommendations for infrastructure upgrades and optimization.
  • Manage and lead complex network projects from inception to completion, including budget oversight, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication.
  • Evaluate new network technologies and solutions, making recommendations for their adoption based on business value, security, and scalability.
  • Provide expert technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to network engineers and other IT professionals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other IT teams, business units, and external vendors to deliver integrated and effective technology solutions.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all network architectures, configurations, and processes.
  • Ensure disaster recovery and business continuity plans for network infrastructure are robust and regularly tested.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in network engineering and architecture, with at least 3 years in a lead or senior architectural role.
  • Extensive experience with enterprise-grade networking equipment (e.g., Cisco, Juniper,华为) and network operating systems.
  • Deep expertise in network protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS) and network services (DNS, DHCP).
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing complex LAN/WAN topologies, including SD-WAN technologies.
  • Strong background in network security principles and technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, NAC, SIEM).
  • Experience with cloud networking concepts and architectures (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Solid understanding of virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and their impact on network design.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering successful network projects.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CCIE, CCNP, JNCIE, CISSP).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in the mining, manufacturing, or heavy industry sectors, particularly with OT/IT convergence.
  • Familiarity with industrial control systems (ICS) and SCADA network architectures.
  • Experience with network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible).
  • Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and best practices.
