Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and passionate Senior Residential Lead to join our committed team in Upper Poppleton, York. This pivotal role involves overseeing the daily operations of our residential home for young people, ensuring a nurturing, safe, and therapeutic environment. As a Senior Lead, you will be instrumental in the welfare, development, and progress of our residents, working closely with care teams, families, and external professionals. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of Residential Support Workers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
- Ensure the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and well-being for all young people in the residence.
- Oversee the implementation of individual care plans, risk assessments, and positive behaviour support strategies.
- Manage daily operations, including rota planning, administrative tasks, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., Ofsted).
- Act as a key worker for specific young people, fostering positive relationships and advocating for their needs.
- Participate in multi-agency meetings and collaborate effectively with social workers, educators, and health professionals.
- Contribute to creating a stimulating and supportive atmosphere where young people can achieve their full potential.
- Provide on-call support and cover as required, ensuring continuity of care and safety.
Required Skills
- Minimum 4 years (48 months) experience in a residential childcare setting.
- NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce (or equivalent).
- Demonstrable understanding of child development, safeguarding legislation, and care standards.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team leadership skills.
- Ability to manage challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Full UK Driving License and access to a vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a senior or supervisory role within a residential setting.
- Training in therapeutic models or de-escalation techniques (e.g., PRICE, Team Teach).
- Degree in Social Work, Youth Work, or a related field.
