Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Solutions Architect to join our dynamic technology team in Chitungwiza. As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing robust, scalable, and secure technological solutions that align with Econet’s strategic business objectives. You will be instrumental in translating complex business requirements into clear, actionable architectural blueprints, guiding our development and operations teams through the entire solution lifecycle. This role demands a deep understanding of the telecommunications ecosystem, cloud technologies, data platforms, and enterprise applications. You will be responsible for evaluating emerging technologies, setting technical standards, and ensuring architectural integrity across various projects. You will collaborate closely with product management, engineering, sales, and operations teams to deliver innovative solutions that enhance customer experience, optimize operational efficiency, and drive market leadership. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of highly available, scalable, and secure solutions across various technology domains, including core network services, digital platforms, and enterprise applications.
- Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications and architectural designs, ensuring alignment with overall enterprise architecture standards.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of new technologies and vendors, making recommendations for adoption based on strategic fit, cost-effectiveness, and technical viability.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development and engineering teams, guiding them through implementation phases and ensuring adherence to architectural best practices.
- Develop and maintain architectural documentation, including solution diagrams, data flow diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure all solutions meet stringent security standards and compliance requirements.
- Identify and mitigate architectural risks, proposing proactive solutions to potential challenges.
- Drive innovation by identifying opportunities to leverage new technologies to enhance business capabilities and create competitive advantage.
- Participate in project planning and estimation, providing expert input on technical feasibility, resource requirements, and timelines.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence within the architecture team and across the organization.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in solution architecture, enterprise architecture, or a similar technical leadership role.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale, complex IT solutions within the telecommunications sector.
- Deep understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Expertise in microservices architecture, APIs, and integration patterns.
- Strong knowledge of database technologies (relational and NoSQL) and data warehousing concepts.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions and drive consensus among diverse teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant technical field.
