Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Sourcing Specialist to join our dynamic procurement team in Epworth, Harare Province. This critical role involves strategic sourcing across various categories, ensuring cost-effectiveness, supply chain efficiency, and maintaining high-quality standards for our diverse business units. The Senior Sourcing Specialist will be instrumental in identifying, evaluating, and onboarding new suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing existing vendor relationships to secure optimal terms and conditions. You will be expected to conduct market analysis, forecast procurement needs, and implement best practices in sourcing to support Innscor Africa Limited’s extensive operations, ranging from raw materials for manufacturing to supplies for our retail and fast-food outlets. This position requires a proactive individual with strong analytical skills, exceptional negotiation abilities, and a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics within a fast-paced environment. Your contributions will directly impact our operational efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for assigned categories to achieve cost savings and improve supplier performance.
- Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, assess market trends, and evaluate new products or services.
- Lead the entire RFQ/RFP process, including supplier identification, bid analysis, and vendor selection in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Negotiate complex contracts with suppliers, focusing on terms, pricing, quality, delivery, and service level agreements to ensure optimal value.
- Manage and cultivate strong relationships with key suppliers, monitoring performance, resolving issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments such as production, logistics, finance, and quality control to align sourcing strategies with business needs.
- Analyze purchasing data, prepare detailed reports on cost savings, supplier performance, and other key metrics.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical guidelines, and relevant regulatory requirements in all sourcing activities.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior sourcing personnel, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional development.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing and procurement, preferably within manufacturing or FMCG.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Demonstrated project management capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply).
- Experience with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle for procurement modules.
- Knowledge of local and international trade regulations and import/export processes.
