Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to individuals with diverse needs.
- Mentor, supervise, and guide junior support staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and regular review of individualised care plans.
- Liaise effectively with families, guardians, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to ensure holistic support.
- Manage challenging behaviours with empathy, patience, and professional de-escalation techniques.
- Ensure strict compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding protocols, and internal policies and procedures.
- Administer medication safely and accurately, maintaining meticulous records as per guidelines.
- Act as a key worker for assigned individuals, advocating for their needs and preferences.
- Actively participate in all provided training, professional development programs, and team meetings.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive living environment for all residents.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Support Worker in a care setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage a small team.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
- Exceptional empathy, patience, resilience, and a non-judgmental approach.
- Basic IT literacy for record-keeping and communication.
- Understanding of safeguarding principles and CQC standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification).
- Certification in First Aid and Basic Life Support.
