Job Description
Spoon Consulting, a pioneering force in innovative technology solutions, is actively seeking a highly skilled and passionate Senior Test Automation Engineer to join our vibrant team in Ébène, Mauritius. You will play a key role in integrating automated testing into our continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, ensuring seamless and rapid feedback loops for our development teams. This involves collaborating closely with software developers, product managers, and other QA engineers to understand project requirements, identify testable components, and define appropriate automation strategies. Beyond execution, you will be a thought leader within the team, responsible for introducing best practices, evaluating new tools and technologies, and providing mentorship to junior team members. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient automation frameworks and test scripts using industry-standard tools and programming languages.
- Collaborate with development, product, and QA teams to understand requirements, define test strategies, and identify testable components for automation.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and rapid feedback.
- Execute automated test suites, analyze results, and effectively report defects, working closely with development teams for timely resolution.
- Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new testing tools, technologies, and methodologies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior QA engineers, promoting best practices in test automation.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the QA process, test coverage, and overall product quality.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in test automation and software quality assurance.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance with a strong focus on test automation.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C#, JavaScript).
- Extensive experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, Postman, JMeter).
- Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
- Familiarity with API testing and database testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with performance testing tools and concepts.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Certifications in software testing (e.g., ISTQB).
