Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, configure, and maintain server infrastructure (physical, virtual, and cloud) ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
- Monitor server performance, capacity, and health using various tools, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.
- Perform routine system administration tasks, including patching, updates, backups, and disaster recovery planning and testing.
- Automate repetitive tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) to improve operational efficiency and consistency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex server-related incidents, problems, and service requests in a timely manner.
- Implement and enforce security best practices for server environments, including vulnerability management and access control.
- Collaborate with development, network, and security teams to support application deployment and infrastructure projects.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for server configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for critical incidents, ensuring minimal downtime.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in server administration for Linux (e.g., RedHat, Ubuntu, CentOS) and Windows Server environments.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls).
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere, KVM, Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, Nagios).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
