Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Service Electrician to join our growing team in Bulawayo. This critical role involves performing a wide range of electrical services, including installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and components for various clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing complex electrical issues, executing repairs efficiently, and ensuring all work adheres to national electrical codes and safety regulations. You will work independently on service calls, as well as collaborate with other team members on larger projects, providing expert electrical support and solutions. This position requires a professional who is not only technically proficient but also possesses excellent customer service skills, capable of communicating effectively with clients and representing Dynamo Electrical (Pvt) Ltd with integrity and professionalism. Key Responsibilities
- Perform skilled electrical tasks including installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical systems, wiring, and equipment.
- Diagnose and rectify faults in electrical circuits, motors, control systems, and other electrical components.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to execute work accurately.
- Adhere strictly to all national electrical codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs, explain technical issues, and provide solutions.
- Complete all necessary documentation, including work orders, service reports, and inventory logs, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service requests, as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Service Electrician or similar role.
- Solid understanding of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, ammeters, circuit tracers).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent knowledge of national electrical codes and safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant trade certificate or diploma in Electrical Engineering/Electrician Studies.
- Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA) wireman's license or equivalent certification.
- Experience with industrial control systems (PLCs, VFDs).
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience working in a client-facing service environment.
