Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular rounds throughout the shelter facility to ensure safety and security of residents.
- Monitor resident activities and enforce shelter rules and guidelines with fairness and consistency.
- Provide empathetic support and assistance to residents, addressing inquiries and concerns with respect.
- Document incidents, observations, and resident interactions accurately and promptly.
- Assist with basic needs coordination, such as connecting residents with available resources.
- Maintain a clean and orderly environment, including light cleaning tasks as needed during the shift.
- Respond calmly and effectively to crises or emergencies, following established protocols.
- Collaborate with day shift staff for smooth transitions and information sharing.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Exceptional empathy and compassion for vulnerable populations
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliability and punctuality, especially for night shifts
- Ability to remain calm and de-escalate challenging situations
- Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and communication
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid and CPR certification
