Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips for accuracy and damage.
- Unload materials and products safely using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Process and document all incoming and outgoing goods accurately in the inventory management system.
- Prepare, package, and label outgoing shipments according to company standards and carrier requirements.
- Coordinate with carriers for timely pick-ups and deliveries, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
- Maintain organized and tidy inventory storage areas, ensuring efficient use of space and easy accessibility.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with discrepancy investigations.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and perform routine checks and maintenance.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., customer service, production) to resolve shipping/receiving issues.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Shipper Receiver or similar role in a warehouse/logistics setting.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment (certification preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks consistently.
- Basic computer literacy for inventory management systems and data entry.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift certification (Counterbalance, Reach Truck, etc.).
- Experience with an ERP or advanced Warehouse Management System (WMS).
