Key Responsibilities
- Process inbound and outbound shipments, including receiving, checking, and dispatching cargo.
- Prepare all necessary shipping documentation, such as bills of lading, packing lists, customs forms, and shipping labels, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, couriers, and internal teams to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Track and trace shipments, providing updates to relevant stakeholders and resolving any discrepancies or delays.
- Maintain organized records of all shipping activities, both physical and digital, in accordance with company procedures.
- Perform inventory checks and assist with stock control to ensure accurate stock levels and prevent loss or damage.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely, such as pallet jacks or forklifts (if certified), for moving goods.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the warehouse and shipping area.
- Assist with packaging and labeling goods as required, ensuring items are securely prepared for transit.
- Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal departments regarding shipment status and related inquiries.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk, Logistics Assistant, or similar role.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in using shipping software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Basic mathematical skills for calculating weights, dimensions, and quantities.
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 25kg and perform physical tasks associated with warehouse work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift certification (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck).
- Previous experience with international shipping documentation and customs procedures.
- Knowledge of industry-specific logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle Logistics).
