Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and highly organized Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic team in Buff Bay, Portland Parish. This full-time role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of our domestic and international shipments. The successful candidate will be responsible for meticulously preparing and processing all necessary shipping documentation, coordinating dispatch activities, and maintaining accurate records. You will be at the heart of our logistics operations, ensuring that products are shipped on time and in full compliance with all regulations.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and process all shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, customs declarations, and certificates of origin.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff for timely picking, packing, and loading of shipments.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to arrange transport and ensure smooth customs clearance.
- Track and monitor shipments, providing updates to internal stakeholders and customers as required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date shipping records, both physical and electronic.
- Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, damages, or delays in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with all local and international shipping regulations and company policies.
- Manage inventory of shipping supplies and place orders when necessary.
- Assist in the preparation of regular shipping reports and analyses.
- Provide administrative support to the logistics department as needed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics/dispatch role.
- Strong understanding of shipping procedures, documentation, and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Knowledge of international trade terms (Incoterms).
- Familiarity with Jamaican customs procedures and local transport networks.
- Valid driver's license.
