Job Description

This role calls for a dedicated Shipping Coordinator to join our operational team in Matundo, Tete. You will be instrumental in managing the entire shipping process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective movement of goods across various geographical points. From meticulously coordinating with local and international suppliers and carriers to preparing all necessary documentation and diligently tracking shipments, your precision and proactive approach will be absolutely key to our overall logistics efficiency. As a pivotal Shipping Coordinator, your responsibilities will encompass the end-to-end management of both inbound raw materials and outbound finished product shipments. This comprehensive role includes verifying order accuracy, meticulously calculating shipping costs, preparing and filing complex customs documentation, and expertly resolving any potential shipping delays or unforeseen issues that may arise. Your ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders will be paramount to your success. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of international and domestic shipping, including scheduling, tracking, and delivery.
  • Prepare and process all shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and commercial invoices.
  • Liaise effectively with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and internal departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse staff for timely dispatch and receipt of goods.
  • Resolve shipping discrepancies, damages, and delays efficiently and professionally.
  • Maintain accurate shipping records, databases, and reports for auditing and performance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with all local and international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
  • Assist in negotiating freight rates and optimizing shipping routes for cost efficiency.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a shipping, logistics, or supply chain role.
  • Proficiency in shipping software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Strong understanding of international shipping regulations and customs procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with an ability to multitask.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with import/export documentation specific to the Southern African region.
  • Proficiency in Portuguese (written and spoken) is a significant advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.
