Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with product inquiries, selections, and purchases.
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems to process transactions accurately, including cash, card, and digital payments.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and visually appealing store environment, including shelving and display areas.
- Restock merchandise, ensuring shelves are well-stocked and products are clearly priced.
- Handle customer returns and exchanges efficiently and courteously, adhering to company policies.
- Assist in unpacking new deliveries, checking inventory against orders, and preparing stock for the sales floor.
- Provide product knowledge and recommendations, proactively upselling and cross-selling when appropriate.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily sales targets and maintain a positive team atmosphere.
- Address customer complaints and resolve issues professionally, escalating complex situations to management when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the retail space.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a customer service or retail environment (minimum 6 months).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A friendly, approachable, and enthusiastic demeanour.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills for handling transactions and stock.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by retail operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience operating a POS system.
- Familiarity with retail merchandising principles.
- Knowledge of inventory management practices.
- GCSEs or equivalent qualifications, particularly in English and Maths.
