Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly upon their arrival and assist them in locating desired products.
- Proactively engage with customers to understand their needs and recommend suitable products.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and issue receipts.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor, including product displays and shelving.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock replenishment, and report low stock items.
- Assist in receiving and unpacking new merchandise, ensuring proper storage and display.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally and resolve issues promptly.
- Stay informed about current product features, promotions, and sales policies.
- Contribute to achieving individual and team sales targets.
- Perform opening and closing duties as required, including securing the premises.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a retail or customer service environment (minimum 1 year)
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and helpful attitude
- Basic mathematical skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic retail setting
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights as required
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary School Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Prior experience with POS systems and inventory management software.
- Fluency in both English and French (Creole also a plus) to cater to diverse clientele.
