As a Shop Attendant, you will be at the heart of our operations, serving as the primary point of contact for customers. Your main goal will be to assist customers with their inquiries, guide them through our product offerings, and ultimately drive sales through excellent service and product knowledge. This involves understanding customer needs, demonstrating product features, and making recommendations that genuinely enhance their shopping journey. You will also be responsible for processing transactions accurately, handling cash and card payments, and ensuring all sales procedures are followed diligently.
Beyond direct customer interaction, your role will extend to maintaining the visual appeal and operational efficiency of the store. This includes diligently stocking shelves, ensuring products are correctly priced and displayed, and keeping the sales floor clean and tidy at all times. You’ll assist with inventory management, receiving new stock, and helping to organize storage areas. Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with product inquiries and selections.
- Actively engage with customers to understand their needs and recommend suitable products.
- Process sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale (POS) systems, handling cash, credit/debit cards, and mobile payments.
- Maintain an organised, clean, and visually appealing sales floor and display areas.
- Ensure shelves are well-stocked, products are correctly priced, and merchandise is attractively presented.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving new stock, conducting stock counts, and organizing storage.
- Promote current sales, special offers, and loyalty programs to customers.
- Handle customer complaints and returns efficiently and courteously, escalating issues when necessary.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including security and health & safety guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve daily sales targets and operational goals.
