Career.zycto is seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Shop Attendant to join a thriving retail team located near the iconic Champ de Mars in Port Louis. Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome customers warmly, providing excellent customer service at all times.
- Assist customers in locating products, making selections, and offering product information and recommendations.
- Actively engage with customers to understand their needs and guide them towards suitable purchases, utilizing upselling and cross-selling techniques.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the POS system, handling cash and card payments.
- Maintain the cleanliness, tidiness, and visual appeal of the sales floor, displays, and stockroom.
- Replenish stock on shelves, arrange merchandise, and assist with inventory management.
- Resolve customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally, escalating to management when necessary.
- Adhere to all store policies and procedures, including security measures and health and safety guidelines.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures of the store as required.
- Participate in product training sessions to enhance knowledge of new arrivals and existing stock.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth store operations and achieve collective sales goals.
Required Skills
- Proven customer service experience, preferably in a retail environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic mathematical skills for handling transactions and calculating change.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary School Certificate (Form V/SC or equivalent).
- Previous experience with a Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Knowledge of various retail products (e.g., fashion, electronics, home goods, depending on the specific retail partner).
- Fluency in both English and French (Mauritian Creole is a plus).
