Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all daily operational activities of the retail outlet, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of retail associates, conducting performance reviews and facilitating ongoing training and development.
- Ensure exceptional customer service is provided at all times, handling customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally and promptly.
- Implement and enforce visual merchandising standards to create an appealing and engaging shopping environment.
- Manage inventory effectively, including stock receiving, replenishment, transfers, and conducting regular stock counts to minimize shrinkage.
- Monitor sales performance, analyze data, and implement strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Handle cash management, including daily reconciliations, banking procedures, and ensuring adherence to company financial policies.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the shop floor and storage areas.
- Prepare comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly reports on sales, inventory, and staff performance.
- Ensure strict compliance with all company policies, procedures, and local regulations.
- Act as a key holder, responsible for opening and closing the shop securely.
Required Skills
- Proven leadership and team management abilities with at least 3 years of supervisory experience in a retail setting.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of retail operations, including inventory control and visual merchandising.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets and drive business growth.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office Suite, POS systems).
- High level of integrity and attention to detail, especially in cash handling.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced retail environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field.
- Experience with specific point-of-sale (POS) systems relevant to the retail industry.
- Knowledge of local market trends and customer preferences in Lamu.
- Basic proficiency in Swahili is an added advantage.
