Key Responsibilities

  • Assist qualified shotfirers in preparing blast sites according to detailed plans and safety regulations.
  • Learn and practice safe handling, transportation, and storage procedures for explosives and detonators under direct supervision.
  • Support the drilling and loading of blast holes with explosives under strict supervision.
  • Conduct pre- and post-blast inspections, ensuring all safety measures are in place and adhered to.
  • Maintain and clean tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure operational readiness and safety.
  • Monitor blast zones and perimeter security during operations to ensure public and personnel safety.
  • Assist in setting up and dismantling warning signs, barriers, and communication systems.
  • Participate in safety briefings and emergency drills, consistently following all instructions.
  • Report any unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or incidents immediately to the supervisor.
  • Operate basic site equipment as directed and after appropriate training.

Required Skills

  • Strong commitment to safety regulations and procedures.
  • Excellent physical condition and stamina; ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced professionals.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Punctual and reliable.
  • Fluent in English (German is a plus for local communication).
