Key Responsibilities
- Assist qualified shotfirers in preparing blast sites according to detailed plans and safety regulations.
- Learn and practice safe handling, transportation, and storage procedures for explosives and detonators under direct supervision.
- Support the drilling and loading of blast holes with explosives under strict supervision.
- Conduct pre- and post-blast inspections, ensuring all safety measures are in place and adhered to.
- Maintain and clean tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure operational readiness and safety.
- Monitor blast zones and perimeter security during operations to ensure public and personnel safety.
- Assist in setting up and dismantling warning signs, barriers, and communication systems.
- Participate in safety briefings and emergency drills, consistently following all instructions.
- Report any unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or incidents immediately to the supervisor.
- Operate basic site equipment as directed and after appropriate training.
Required Skills
- Strong commitment to safety regulations and procedures.
- Excellent physical condition and stamina; ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
