From initial concept realization and graphic preparation to fabrication, finishing, and professional installation, you will be instrumental in maintaining the visual excellence that Shearwater is renowned for. You will collaborate closely with our marketing, operations, and facility management teams to ensure all signage projects align with brand guidelines, meet operational needs, and are executed to the highest standards of quality and safety. Your responsibilities will span the entire production lifecycle, including interpreting design briefs, preparing print-ready files, operating large-format printers and cutting machines, fabricating signs from various substrates (e.g., vinyl, acrylic, wood, metal), and conducting on-site installations. This role demands a strong understanding of materials, an eye for aesthetics, and practical problem-solving skills to overcome production challenges. The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining production equipment, managing inventory of materials, and ensuring a tidy and safe working environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret design briefs and translate concepts into production-ready files for various signage types.
  • Operate and maintain wide-format printers, vinyl cutters, laminators, and other signage production equipment.
  • Fabricate and assemble signs using a variety of materials including vinyl, acrylic, PVC, wood, and metal.
  • Perform accurate on-site installation of indoor and outdoor signage, ensuring safety and compliance.
  • Conduct quality checks on all produced items to ensure adherence to brand standards and specifications.
  • Manage and organize inventory of raw materials and finished products.
  • Collaborate with marketing, operations, and facility teams to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Assist with graphic design adjustments and file preparation as needed.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Demonstrable experience with large-format digital printing and vinyl cutting machines.
  • Strong practical skills in sign fabrication, finishing, and installation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for color and aesthetics.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of various signage materials, their properties, and best application methods.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical components for illuminated signage (preferred, not mandatory).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Effective time management and organizational abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical certification or diploma in graphic design, print production, or a related field.
  • Experience with vehicle wraps and window graphics.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations pertinent to signage installation.
  • Experience in the tourism, hospitality, or retail industries.
  • Ability to operate basic power tools safely and efficiently.
