As a Site Foreman, you will bear significant responsibility for the day-to-day coordination and supervision of all on-site activities, guaranteeing that all work is carried out with utmost efficiency, precision, and safety. This encompasses comprehensive planning, meticulous organisation, and effective control of all labour resources, plant, materials, and equipment. A critical and non-negotiable aspect of this role is the rigorous implementation and unwavering enforcement of all company and statutory health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures. You will be expected to conduct regular and thorough site inspections, perform detailed risk assessments, and lead engaging toolbox talks, actively cultivating and reinforcing a strong, proactive safety culture amongst all site personnel. Furthermore, you will be adept at resolving any on-site issues or conflicts promptly and effectively, liaising seamlessly with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date site records, progress reports, and documentation will also be a key responsibility. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise all on-site labour, ensuring efficient allocation and optimal productivity.
- Implement and enforce all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and deliver effective toolbox talks.
- Oversee quality control, ensuring work meets specifications and industry standards.
- Monitor project progress against schedule and budget, reporting deviations to the Project Manager.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth project flow.
- Resolve on-site issues, conflicts, and challenges promptly and effectively.
- Maintain accurate daily site diaries, progress reports, and material logs.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and maintenance of materials, tools, and equipment.
- Train, mentor, and motivate site personnel to foster a high-performance team environment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Site Foreman or similar leadership role in construction.
- Demonstrable expertise in labour management, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations (e.g., CDM, HSE).
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and plans.
- Proficiency in basic site administration and record-keeping.
- Valid CSCS card and relevant site safety certifications (e.g., SSSTS, SMSTS).
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Experience with various construction methodologies (e.g., civil, commercial, residential).
- Proficiency in construction management software.
- NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Site Supervision or a related field.
