Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces thoroughly for painting, including cleaning, sanding, scraping, patching, and masking areas as required.
- Apply paint, varnish, stain, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment, ensuring even coats and precise lines.
- Mix and match paints to achieve desired colours and textures.
- Protect furniture, flooring, and other surfaces from paint splatters and damage.
- Inspect finished surfaces for quality and address any imperfections or touch-ups needed.
- Collaborate effectively with other renovation team members, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies on job sites.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper disposal of waste materials.
- Operate and maintain painting equipment and tools, reporting any malfunctions or repair needs.
- Assist with other general renovation tasks as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a team-player attitude.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a professional painter, preferably within a renovation or construction setting.
- Excellent knowledge of painting materials, tools, and techniques.
- Proficiency in surface preparation, including patching, sanding, and priming.
- Ability to work accurately with attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality finishes.
- Strong understanding of colour theory and matching.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labour, lift heavy objects, and work at heights safely.
