Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Scaffolding Builder to join our dynamic project team in Masvingo Province. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to significant construction and infrastructure projects, working with a reputable company known for its commitment to quality and safety. As a Scaffolding Builder, you will be instrumental in ensuring the structural integrity and safety of our construction sites by expertly erecting, inspecting, maintaining, and dismantling various types of scaffolding structures. Your expertise will directly support our teams in executing complex projects efficiently and securely, adhering strictly to industry standards and company safety protocols. We are looking for an individual who demonstrates excellent practical skills, a strong understanding of scaffolding regulations, and a proactive approach to site safety. Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and erect scaffolding structures in strict accordance with blueprints, design specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Inspect scaffolding components for defects before and during erection, reporting any damaged parts immediately.
  • Dismantle scaffolding safely and efficiently upon project completion or as required, ensuring all components are accounted for.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on scaffolding equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Collaborate effectively with other construction team members, including supervisors, builders, and other tradespersons.
  • Interpret and follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Assist in loading and unloading scaffolding materials, ensuring proper storage and organization on-site.
  • Identify potential hazards and implement preventative measures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Participate in site safety briefings and contribute to a culture of continuous safety improvement.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Scaffolding Builder in a construction or industrial environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of scaffolding erection, alteration, and dismantling techniques.
  • Strong understanding of relevant safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret scaffolding drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent physical fitness, including the ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certification in scaffolding erection/dismantling (e.g., CISRS, or local equivalent).
  • Basic first aid certification.
  • Experience with various types of scaffolding systems (e.g., tube and fitting, system scaffolding).
  • Valid driver's license.
