Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and passionate Tailor to join our dedicated team in Paarl, Western Cape. In this full-time, on-site role, you will be responsible for a comprehensive range of tailoring tasks, from intricate repairs and meticulous alterations to custom fittings and fabric manipulation. Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of clothing alterations, including hemming, resizing, tapering, and adjustments to various garment types.
- Execute expert repairs on damaged clothing, such as reweaving, patching, zipper replacements, and seam mending.
- Conduct accurate customer fittings, taking precise measurements, and providing professional advice on tailoring options.
- Operate and maintain industrial sewing machines, overlockers, and other tailoring equipment safely and efficiently.
- Manage workflow effectively to meet deadlines and ensure timely completion of all tailoring projects.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Source and manage inventory of threads, zippers, buttons, and other tailoring supplies as needed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Tailor or Seamstress, with a strong portfolio of repair and alteration work.
- Proficiency in operating various sewing machines and tailoring tools.
- In-depth knowledge of different fabrics, garment construction, and tailoring techniques.
- Exceptional attention to detail and precision in all tasks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving skills and a creative approach to challenging alterations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal qualification or certification in tailoring, fashion design, or a related field.
