In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide array of small engine equipment crucial for landscaping operations, including lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, generators, and other outdoor power equipment.

This position requires a strong understanding of both two-stroke and four-stroke engines, carburetor systems, ignition systems, and general mechanical principles. Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic tests to identify mechanical and electrical faults in small engines.
- Execute repairs and overhauls on a variety of landscaping equipment, including but not limited to lawnmowers, trimmers, chainsaws, blowers, and generators.
- Conduct routine maintenance, tune-ups, and preventative care on equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble engine components, identifying worn or damaged parts.
- Adjust and repair carburetors, ignition systems, and other critical engine components.
- Maintain accurate records of all services performed, parts used, and time spent on each job.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations in the workshop environment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding repair status and technical issues.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient workshop.
- Provide recommendations for equipment care and potential upgrades to customers, if applicable.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Small Engine Mechanic, specifically with landscaping and outdoor power equipment.
- Strong diagnostic skills for identifying mechanical and electrical issues.
- In-depth knowledge of two-stroke and four-stroke engine operation and repair.
- Proficiency with various hand and power tools common to engine repair.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Commitment to workplace safety practices.
- Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and parts ordering.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certification from an accredited technical or trade school.
