Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, engaging, and safe snowboard lessons to individuals and groups of varying ages and skill levels.
- Assess student abilities and adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learning styles and goals.
- Ensure the safety of all students by adhering strictly to facility safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to students, fostering skill development and confidence.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times, serving as a positive role model.
- Assist with equipment checks, fitting, and general maintenance guidance for students.
- Participate in regular training sessions and professional development to enhance instructional techniques.
- Handle guest inquiries and provide excellent customer service, resolving issues efficiently and courteously.
- Monitor weather and snow conditions, making informed decisions regarding lesson delivery and safety.
- Complete all necessary administrative tasks, including lesson scheduling and attendance records.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in snowboarding, demonstrating strong technique across various terrains.
- Proven experience in teaching or coaching, preferably in a sports or outdoor education setting.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex movements.
- Strong understanding of snow sports safety principles and emergency procedures.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for sharing the joy of snowboarding.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a dynamic team.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings, based on seasonal demand.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start).
Preferred Qualifications
- Recognized snowboard instructor certification (e.g., BASI Level 1/2, CSIA Level 1/2, PSIA-AASI Level 1/2).
- Experience teaching children and adaptive sports participants.
- Fluency in additional languages.
- Prior experience working in a snow resort or indoor snow facility environment.
