Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with Safaricom’s brand goals and marketing objectives.
- Oversee all social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, etc.) ensuring brand consistency in tone, voice, and visual identity.
- Plan, create, schedule, and publish engaging content, including text, image, and video, tailored for each platform and target audience.
- Monitor, listen to, and engage with our online communities, responding to comments and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Manage and optimize social media advertising campaigns to drive reach, engagement, and conversions.
- Identify and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for social media, prepare detailed reports on campaign performance, and provide actionable insights.
- Conduct competitive analysis and research on social media trends, tools, and best practices to keep our strategy innovative and effective.
- Collaborate with marketing, PR, customer service, and product teams to coordinate content and campaign efforts.
- Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, digital marketing, and emerging platforms.
- Manage social media crisis communications and sentiment analysis when necessary.
Required Skills
- Proven work experience as a Social Media Manager or similar role (minimum 3 years)
- Excellent knowledge of various social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices
- Solid understanding of social media analytics tools (e.g., Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics, Google Analytics)
- Demonstrable experience creating engaging content (text, image, video) for different audiences and platforms
- Strong copywriting, editing, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote environment
