Job Description

Are you a creative and data-driven social media enthusiast with a passion for building online communities and driving brand engagement? Vodacom Lesotho is seeking a talented and self-motivated Social Media Specialist to join our marketing team. This is a remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within Lesotho, providing you with the opportunity to contribute to one of the nation’s most impactful brands from the comfort of your home base in Ha Nohana, Quthing, or beyond.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing our social media strategy across various platforms to enhance our brand presence, improve marketing efforts, and ultimately drive customer acquisition and retention. You will be the voice of Vodacom Lesotho online, crafting compelling content, engaging with our audience, monitoring trends, and analyzing performance to continually optimize our social media footprint. We’re looking for someone who can not only manage daily posts but also think strategically about long-term campaigns, crisis management, and leveraging social media for customer service and market intelligence. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies aligned with Vodacom Lesotho's marketing and brand objectives.
  • Create, curate, and manage all published content (images, video, written) across platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Monitor, listen, and respond to users in a 'social' way while cultivating leads and sales.
  • Oversee social media campaigns, including ideation, creation of content, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting on performance.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and customer service teams to ensure brand consistency and integrated campaigns.
  • Analyze social media data, tools, and analytics to measure campaign performance, identify trends, and inform future strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest social media best practices, technologies, and industry trends.
  • Develop and manage social media budgets, ensuring optimal ROI for all activities.
  • Identify and engage with influencers and key opinion leaders relevant to the telecommunications industry in Lesotho.
  • Manage online reputation, address public comments and messages professionally, and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and research to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Contribute to content planning and editorial calendars.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven work experience as a Social Media Specialist or similar role.
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge.
  • Knowledge of online marketing and a good understanding of major marketing channels.
  • Positive attitude, detail-oriented, with good multitasking and organizational ability.
  • Fluency in English and Sesotho.
  • Proficiency with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social) and analytics platforms (e.g., Facebook Insights, Google Analytics).
  • Strong understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Experience in the telecommunications industry or a fast-paced technology company.
  • Certification in digital marketing or social media management.
  • Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) for content creation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
