Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals and families to identify needs, risks, and strengths.
  • Develop, implement, and review person-centred care plans, ensuring they are culturally sensitive and responsive.
  • Provide direct support, crisis intervention, and safeguarding assistance to vulnerable children and adults.
  • Facilitate access to appropriate community resources, support networks, and other agency services.
  • Advocate effectively for clients' rights and needs within multi-agency meetings and decision-making processes.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely case records in compliance with professional standards and data protection regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams, including health professionals, educators, and third-sector organisations.
  • Actively participate in regular clinical supervision, team meetings, and continuous professional development activities.
  • Promote anti-discriminatory practice and uphold the values and ethics of social work.

Required Skills

  • A recognised qualification in Social Work (e.g., BA, BSc, or MA in Social Work).
  • Current registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
  • Demonstrable experience in family and community social work, including safeguarding children and adults.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Strong analytical, assessment, planning, and organisational abilities.
  • Proficiency in managing complex caseloads and prioritising tasks effectively.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant Scottish legislation, policies, and guidance (e.g., Children (Scotland) Act, Adult Support and Protection).
  • Full UK driving license and access to a car for work-related travel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-qualifying award or further professional development in a relevant social work specialism.
  • Experience working with specific client groups such as mental health, substance misuse, or domestic abuse.
  • Proficiency in using electronic case management systems.
  • Additional language skills relevant to the diverse communities within Glasgow.
