Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule software deployments, updates, and patches across client systems, ensuring minimal downtime and business disruption.
- Develop and maintain detailed deployment plans, checklists, and runbooks, outlining all necessary steps, dependencies, and rollback procedures.
- Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to understand release contents, identify potential deployment risks, and plan mitigation strategies.
- Communicate deployment schedules, progress, and issues clearly and concisely to internal teams and external client stakeholders.
- Monitor deployment processes in real-time, troubleshoot issues as they arise, and escalate critical problems to relevant teams for swift resolution.
- Ensure all deployment activities adhere to established change management procedures, security protocols, and compliance requirements.
- Conduct post-deployment verification to confirm successful implementation and functionality.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all deployment activities, configurations, and post-mortems for continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the ongoing refinement of deployment processes, tools, and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Provide support during off-hours deployments or critical incidents as required, though efforts will be made to schedule during business hours where possible with flexible hours.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in software deployment, release management, or IT project coordination.
- Familiarity with various software development lifecycles (SDLCs) and deployment methodologies.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure concepts, including servers, networks, databases, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with deployment tools and version control systems (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, SVN, Git).
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex deployments simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining technical details to non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certification in ITIL, PMP, or other relevant project management or service management frameworks.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience in a client-facing role or IT consulting.
