Job Description
Career.zycto is on the lookout for a sharp, detail-oriented Software Tester and App Review Specialist to join our growing team in Kiambu County, Kenya. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in maintaining the high quality and functionality of our mobile and web applications before they reach our users. Your primary responsibility will involve conducting comprehensive testing, meticulously identifying bugs, usability issues, and performance bottlenecks, and providing insightful feedback that contributes directly to product enhancement.
You will work closely with development teams, product managers, and UI/UX designers, becoming the critical bridge between product conception and market readiness. This isn’t just about finding errors; it’s about understanding the user journey, anticipating potential problems, and advocating for an exceptional end-user experience. You’ll be involved in developing test plans, creating detailed test cases, executing various testing methodologies (manual, exploratory, regression), and documenting all findings with precision. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute detailed test plans and test cases for mobile and web applications.
- Conduct manual, functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Identify, document, and track bugs and issues using a bug tracking system (e.g., Jira, Asana).
- Provide comprehensive app review feedback on usability, performance, and compliance with design guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and designers to understand requirements and ensure quality throughout the SDLC.
- Participate in requirement reviews to ensure testability and clarity of user stories.
- Proactively suggest improvements to application design, functionality, and user experience.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
- Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and strategies.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in software testing, preferably with mobile or web applications.
- Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Proficiency in creating clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Experience with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Asana).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration and feedback.
