Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for new features and existing functionalities across various platforms (web, desktop, mobile).
  • Accurately identify, document, and track software defects, inconsistencies, and usability issues using industry-standard bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira).
  • Collaborate closely and proactively with software developers, product managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to thoroughly understand project requirements, specifications, and user stories, ensuring quality is embedded throughout the entire SDLC.
  • Perform various types of testing, including functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, system testing, performance testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and methodologies, recommending and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and coverage.
  • Conduct thorough product reviews, providing insightful and constructive feedback on usability, design, and overall user experience to inform product development decisions.
  • Participate actively in agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospective meetings.
  • Create detailed and clear reports on testing progress, defect status, test coverage, and overall product quality, communicating findings effectively to the wider team.
  • Where applicable, work with automated testing frameworks and tools, contributing to the development, maintenance, and execution of automated test scripts to streamline testing efforts.
  • Ensure that all software products and features meet specified requirements, quality standards, and performance benchmarks before release to production.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Software Tester or QA Engineer
  • Solid understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Experience with manual testing and test case development
  • Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright)
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) for test automation
  • ISTQB certification or equivalent QA qualifications
  • Experience in performance or security testing
