Career.zycto is expanding its event support team in Richmond, British Columbia, and we’re looking for dedicated Sound Equipment Moving Crew members to help us deliver flawless audio experiences. This is a critical hands-on role that ensures all sound and related audiovisual equipment is transported, set up, and torn down safely and efficiently for various events, from corporate conferences to live concerts and community gatherings.
As a Sound Equipment Moving Crew member, you will be instrumental in the logistical success of our projects. You will work closely with our lead technicians and production managers, handling a wide array of professional audio gear, including speakers, mixing consoles, microphones, cabling, and staging elements. This position requires careful attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to follow precise instructions within tight deadlines. Every event is unique, offering a dynamic work environment where no two days are quite the same. Key Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload sound equipment, including speakers, amplifiers, mixing consoles, and cabling, onto and off transport vehicles.
- Transport equipment to and from event sites in Richmond and surrounding areas.
- Assist with the physical setup and breakdown of sound stages, scaffolding, and other event structures as directed.
- Organize and maintain equipment inventory, ensuring all items are accounted for before and after events.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines for lifting, moving, and operating equipment to prevent injury or damage.
- Work collaboratively with sound technicians, lighting crews, and event staff to ensure timely and efficient operations.
- Inspect equipment for any damage or malfunctions during setup and breakdown, reporting issues to the lead technician.
- Provide general assistance on-site as needed to support event production teams.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly and for extended periods.
- Strong physical stamina and endurance.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently when required.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in event setup, warehousing, or general labor.
- Familiarity with professional audio or stage equipment.
- Valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver's License and a clean driving record.
