You will work alongside experienced sound engineers and technicians, gaining invaluable practical knowledge in setting up, operating, and maintaining various audio equipment for events, broadcasts, or recordings. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior sound technicians with the setup, calibration, and dismantling of audio equipment, including microphones, speakers, mixing consoles, and cabling.
  • Learn and apply fundamental principles of sound engineering, signal flow, and acoustics under direct supervision.
  • Conduct routine checks and basic maintenance on audio gear to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Provide on-site support during events, rehearsals, or recordings, addressing minor technical issues promptly.
  • Organize and maintain inventory of audio equipment and accessories, ensuring proper storage and readiness for use.
  • Support the mixing and monitoring of live audio feeds, learning to balance sound levels and ensure clear audio output.
  • Collaborate effectively with production teams, artists, and other technical staff to ensure seamless execution of projects.

Required Skills

  • High School Certificate or equivalent.
  • A strong passion for music, audio, and live events.
  • Basic understanding of electronics or electrical systems is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques.
  • Physical ability to lift and move audio equipment as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a related field (e.g., amateur band sound, DJing, stagehand work) is an advantage but not required.
  • Familiarity with basic computer software for audio playback or recording.
  • A valid Mauritian driving license.
