This is a critical full-time position for an individual ready to contribute to cutting-edge data solutions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining our robust database systems, ensuring data integrity, performance, and accessibility across various business units.

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the entire data lifecycle, from initial design and implementation to ongoing optimization and troubleshooting. You’ll be responsible for crafting efficient SQL queries, developing complex stored procedures, and ensuring data warehousing solutions meet the highest standards of reliability and scalability. Your work will directly support our Business Intelligence, analytics, and reporting initiatives, empowering strategic decision-making and driving operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain efficient, scalable, and secure SQL databases and data warehousing solutions.
  • Write, optimize, and tune complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Develop and manage Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to ensure data integrity and facilitate data flow between systems.
  • Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for continuous optimization.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, business intelligence specialists, and other development teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Ensure data security, backup, and recovery procedures are in place and adhered to.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database-related issues.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to maintain high-quality data solutions.
  • Document database designs, schemas, and operational procedures.
  • Stay abreast of new database technologies and best practices to recommend improvements.

Required Skills

  • Strong proficiency in SQL development, including complex queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
  • Extensive experience with database design, data modeling, and normalization techniques.
  • Proven experience with performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries and databases.
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and tools.
  • Solid understanding of database security principles and practices.
  • Experience with database administration tasks (backups, restores, monitoring).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with specific database platforms like Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
  • Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL).
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, QlikView).
  • Proficiency in German is a plus, but not required.
