Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient, scalable, and secure SQL databases and data warehousing solutions.
- Write, optimize, and tune complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers to improve performance and efficiency.
- Develop and manage Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to ensure data integrity and facilitate data flow between systems.
- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for continuous optimization.
- Collaborate with data analysts, business intelligence specialists, and other development teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Ensure data security, backup, and recovery procedures are in place and adhered to.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database-related issues.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to maintain high-quality data solutions.
- Document database designs, schemas, and operational procedures.
- Stay abreast of new database technologies and best practices to recommend improvements.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in SQL development, including complex queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Extensive experience with database design, data modeling, and normalization techniques.
- Proven experience with performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries and databases.
- Familiarity with ETL processes and tools.
- Solid understanding of database security principles and practices.
- Experience with database administration tasks (backups, restores, monitoring).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with specific database platforms like Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
