G4S Moçambique is actively seeking a dedicated, proactive, and detail-oriented Stadium Operations Assistant to augment our dynamic and essential team in Maputo. As a Stadium Operations Assistant, you will play an instrumental role in ensuring that all operational facets run with utmost smoothness and precision, spanning from the intricate pre-event setup stages to the comprehensive post-event breakdown procedures. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist diligently in the comprehensive preparation and meticulous setup of stadium facilities for a wide range of events, including precise seating arrangements, strategic signage placement, and accurate equipment positioning.
  • Proactively monitor and assess venue conditions rigorously before, during, and after events, promptly reporting any maintenance issues, safety concerns, or operational deficiencies to relevant personnel.
  • Provide crucial support for event day operations, which includes effectively directing patrons, managing complex access control points with precision, and offering general assistance to ensure a smooth flow.
  • Liaise effectively and collaboratively with security personnel, emergency services, and other essential venue staff to ensure coordinated, rapid, and highly effective responses to any incidents or emergencies.
  • Contribute actively to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and orderliness across all stadium areas, encompassing public spaces, exclusive locker rooms, and critical operational zones.
  • Assist with the accurate inventory management of all operational supplies, equipment, and resources, ensuring their availability and proper use.
  • Participate actively in all post-event breakdown and comprehensive clean-up activities, ensuring venues are restored to their pristine state efficiently.
  • Adhere strictly and consistently to all company policies, stringent safety protocols, and specific venue regulations at all times.
  • Provide exceptional, courteous, and professional customer service to all visitors, athletes, event organizers, and stakeholders.
  • Perform other essential operational duties and tasks as specifically assigned by the Facilities Manager or Event Manager.

Required Skills

  • Proven and demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, highly dynamic, and demanding event environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive problem-solving approach.
  • Excellent verbal communication, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as dictated by event schedules and operational needs.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for reporting and administrative tasks.
  • Physical stamina and capacity to stand, walk extensively, and safely lift moderate weights (up to 20kg) for extended periods.
  • Professional fluency in Portuguese (both verbal and written) is essential for effective communication in Maputo.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in event management, large-scale facility operations, or a dedicated customer service role, ideally within a stadium, arena, or major public venue setting.
  • Foundational knowledge of basic first aid procedures and emergency response protocols.
  • Familiarity with local and national health and safety regulations pertinent to public venues and large gatherings.
