Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Staff Scheduling Coordinator to join our growing team in GRA Ilorin. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all operational periods and projects.
  • Process and manage time-off requests, shift changes, and leave requests in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Proactively identify potential staffing shortages or excesses and propose solutions to maintain optimal staffing levels.
  • Communicate schedules effectively to all staff members, ensuring clarity and addressing any questions or concerns promptly.
  • Collaborate with department managers to understand staffing needs, operational goals, and employee availability.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, collective bargaining agreements (if applicable), and company policies in all scheduling decisions.
  • Maintain accurate records of employee work hours, attendance, and leave using designated scheduling software or systems.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts and emergencies efficiently and fairly, minimizing disruption to operations.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on staffing metrics, schedule adherence, and attendance patterns.
  • Assist in the onboarding process by ensuring new hires are integrated into the scheduling system promptly.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in staff scheduling or a similar coordination role (minimum 2-3 years).
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., When I Work, Homebase, Deputy, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Understanding of basic labor laws and scheduling best practices relevant to Nigeria.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Experience in a healthcare, logistics, or service-oriented industry.
  • Familiarity with local labor regulations in Kwara State, Nigeria.
  • Certification in Human Resources (e.g., CIPM) or project management.
  • Ability to analyze data and make data-driven scheduling decisions for optimal resource allocation.
