Career.zycto is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Stock Controller to join our thriving Oldbury-based warehouse team. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of stock control, from goods receipt and put-away to order picking and despatch verification. Your day-to-day will involve meticulous data entry, regular stock counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory records using our warehouse management system (WMS).
- Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventory checks, investigating and reconciling any discrepancies.
- Oversee the receipt of goods, ensuring correct quantity and quality, and accurate data entry.
- Monitor stock levels to prevent overstocking and stock-outs, making recommendations for ordering and replenishment.
- Coordinate with warehouse operatives on stock placement, retrieval, and order fulfilment.
- Generate comprehensive stock reports and analyze data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and potential issues.
- Implement and maintain robust stock control procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Liaise with procurement, operations, and sales teams regarding stock availability and upcoming demands.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security standards within the warehouse environment.
- Assist in the preparation for audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (1-2 years) in a Stock Controller, Inventory Clerk, or similar role within a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Strong proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of basic supply chain and logistics principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift license (Reach or Counterbalance).
- Experience with SAP or other major ERP systems.
- Relevant certifications in inventory management or logistics.
- A-Levels or equivalent vocational qualifications.
